The Other Side Of Me

I've recently bought the Designer Frames Folders from Stampin Up and I am having such fun with them.  I played around researched for ages, because I kept getting creases in my card stock and found an awesome video that really helped.  If you're suffering from the same affliction (!) you really need to watch this video , it's fabulous. This is the first card that I made: I decided to have a go at making a sympathy card, before I really need one and don't want to make it!  I bought the sentiment stamp a few weeks' ago in a local craft shop.  It's actually got a little flower at the beginning of the words that's very similar to the Summer Silhouettes stamp used at the top, but I wanted the wording to be symetrical, so I just inked the letters.  Here's a close up of the stamped flower in the frame: You can see the frame more clearly in this pic.  As you can see, there are no dents in the surrounding cardstock.  I cut a little piece of white ca...

Hello, dear Blogfriends!  Let me start by saying a big thankyou for all your kind comments regarding the mammogram.  I am delighted to say there is nothing sinister going on, it turns out I have cysts (a lot more than I realised!) which is a major relief.  I have been sick with worry, as you can imagine.  So sick, in fact, I couldn't make it to craft class on Wednesday, which I never miss, so that shows you how bad I've been. I did have a really lovely day on Monday with the local WI who hosted a craft day.  Everybody took along something they were working on (in my case, cross stitch) and we had a wonderful lunch together.  I decided to walk home to burn off some calories! A couple of weeks' ago we went to some friends' pearl wedding anniversary celebrations.  Afterwards I realised it was the perfect opportunity to make a nice thankyou card.  This is what I made: Having made the cards for church recently, I've realised I love the A6 size of card (half an A5 for those of you who aren't sure).  It's quite small, but gives lovely proportions to whatever I make.  I'm also loving 5x7 cards as I think A5 is too big.  So everything's being scaled down lately! For this card I distressed the whole surface, then stamped with my letter stamp in Marina Mist.  I made a tag and distressed it, then went around the edges with a lovely chocolate brown ink.  The image is a stickeroo from Penny Black, and so is the butterfly.  It's so thin and beautiful it feels like it's stamped, it's fabulous.  These sheets of stickers are so beautiful and such good value, I'll definitely be buying some more.  I've put a bit of gard...

Good morning everyone, let's see if this works! Here is my card for the St Luke's Hospice challenge: I'm so glad I've found this blog. They are raising money for a hospice in Sheffield, not very far away from us at all, and it's because of this that I've decided to pluck up the courage to have a go at my very first challenge blog. The theme is 'Say it with Flowers', which I think I have done, don't you? The stamps are from Pink Petticoat, but they were free with Simply Cards and Papercraft (rapidly becoming my favourite magazine). I didn't have any matching backing paper, so I got out the little daisy stamp and stamped all over a piece of card, so I could colour them with Promarkers and they'd match the little toppers exactly. The blue border was just plain card coloured with a blue Promarker too, so that matches as well. The ribbon was just a piece of green from my stash, but it worked a treat.
