The Other Side Of Me

Evening everyone! I'm gradually working my way through my card list for November and December.  Here's the latest creation: I've managed to use up some Everyday Enchantment dsp for this card.  The stamp is one from the Simple Soft stamp set.  I still adore these. I do love my days off work, where I get lots of time to craft. It's a good job really, as I've recently got my eldest daughter into Project Life. We are both doing December Daily this year.  I've made some cards for my daughter to use in her album.  Hope she likes them. Back soon Jane x

Oh my, July is whizzing by, isn't it? Things are very hectic here, as usual.  Tessa has had an operation and we have a new granddaughter, so there's plenty to keep us busy. I've challenged the card swap group in July to make the smallest card they can muster.  The maximum size must be no bigger than 4"x4".  It was my turn to send a card to Michelle, and this is what I made: I've recently bought a pack of Calypso Coral cardstock and thought now would be the perfect moment to break into it.  The white cardstock is 4"x4", then a smaller layer of Everyday Enchantment dsp, plus a smaller square of Calypso Coral on top, which has been run through the oval decorative frames ef.  The stamp was free with a magazine a couple of years ago.  I coloured the flower in Calypso Coral.  The little leaves are in Wild Wasabi and the water is Pool Party. Hello y'all! Five minutes peace to sit and talk to you.  I've had another sesh with my Everyday Enchantment papers.  I still have loads left, but I've just bought some Calypso Coral cardstock and ink,  so there'll be no stopping me now.  Lookie: I'm not going to list any products as you probably recognise everything on these. You know me, butterflies with everything!   I've since added a sentiment to this one, just above the dsp on the left.   Surely you could make this with virtually any dsp?  Go on, CASE it and see what you end up with! I'm so sorry I've just realised the quality of this photo isn't all that great, I seem to have a smudge on my lense, but I just wanted to show you the card I made for this month's swap group.  I've been wanting to make a joyfold card for ages, and actually received one as part of my swaps last month and this made me even more keen to make one.  I found a very good tutorial on Splitcoast and was away. I decided not to use a picture for my central piece, but the sentiment that comes from the Faith In Nature set.  This is the first time I've ever used it. It was one of those cards where you're not really sure if it's going to fit into a standard size envelope as you're making it and you have visions of having to make a special envelope to fit it, and heave a sigh of relief when you've finished and it goes into a normal envelope - phew! I added all my pieces of cardstock onto a Soft Suede base and used a stamp to help keep it closed. Here is a ...

I am thrilled to say my friend Lynne has ordered 10 cards from me.  How fab is it to know someone who likes your cards so much they order 10 at a time?!  I've sent off 8, and this is one of them: I saw a very similar card on Pinterest from Lisa Martz blog here .  I liked the colour scheme very much, but realised I liked the tall image in the centre panel.  I hunted around for what I had in mind and found my lovely bay tree image.  I don't know who makes this, it's just in a set of stamps in the Born To Shop range. I made this, with it's Lucky Limeade cardstock, and then black and assembled all the parts, and then had to leave it in my drawer while the Pool Party ribbon winged it's way to me and then I put it all together.  It's lovely to think Calypso Coral is coming back, isn't it? I've realised I haven't put any sort of sentiment on it, but then she can use it for whatever she wants, can't she? I need to crack on and make her two more car...

Good morning everyone!  It's a dull rainy day here, but we are desperate for the rain, so I am not going to complain.  My horse needs grass! Anyway, I have a special card to share with you today.  Check this out: This is the front of what looks like a fairly simple card.  The dsp is Everyday Enchantment, with a large piece of Pool Party cardstock cut using my framelits dies and then run through the Bigshot with the square lattice embossing folder. (I still have lots of this dsp left, which is why I'm so pleased Pool Party is staying with us.) The stamp is Summer Silhouettes in Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral with Happy Birthday stamped with my new stamp set, but it's very similar to the one in the retired Elementary Elegance set. I didn't realise until the card was finished that the dots on the flower really reflect the dots in the dsp. I've popped a little piece of Pool Party ribbon on the side, to add to the softness of the card. But the reall...

Good morning all.  Just to say first of all that I had a wonderful birthday yesterday and received some of the most beautiful cards I've ever seen, all made by members of the card swap group.  It absolutely made my day, and I can't thank you enough.  You are a very talented bunch of crafters.  I'll be showcasing the cards on here very soon, because you just have to see what I got! And now for today's card.  I saw this on Pinterest and just had to have a go.  The hardest part was working out the measurements to get 4 equal strips of paper, and now I can't remember what they are!  I had to ask my engineering husband to work it out for me in the first place (I don't do maths!)  The card base is 7" x 5" in Lucky Limeade (my new favourite colour!) so the next layer is a 1/4" shorter all round, then I cut and stuck the dsp down, and then cut with the framelits dies.  The stamp is from Sprinkled Expressions, a retired set, but as with any c...

Oh boy, have I been having fun.  This is the card I made last week for my youngest daughter.  I got a bit carried away... All I knew was that I wanted to make an easel card where the centre piece was this fancy square shape.  The card I'd seen that inspired me looked nothing like this! I started with the Spellbinder die (if you have the Top Note die it will be perfect) and cut some of this beautiful Everyday Enchantment dsp.  It contains Poppy Parade and Soft Suede, so I combined them on the butterfly at the top and stamped one of the sentiments from the butterfly set.  Then I went to town a bit on the inside, look: I've used the Fresh Vintage stamp set (retired) and stamped all around the edge.  But of course my favourite bit is the Four Frames stamp at the bottom, with the little birds from the Clearly For You stamp set, how sweet is that?  But I wasn't finished there.  I recently looked on You Tube for a video on how to make a post-it n...

I knew  it was Joan's birthday coming up so I decided to ask her about it.  She said she would be 80, which is fine, but later in the conversation she said she was born in 1922.  Now maths is not my strong point, but I lay in bed that night going over and over it and still coming up with 90!  So I went in the next day and my manager asked if I could make a 90th birthday card for Joan.  Phew, my maths isn't that bad then.  I'm already at the stage where I'm beginning to forget how old I am, so I totally understand! I knew straight away what I wanted to make, and here it is: This is the first time I've cut into this beautiful sheet of 12x12" dsp from the Everyday Enchantment set. Technically the red on the paper is Poppy Parade (goodbye sweet love, sob!) but I stamped the image (from Fresh Vintage)  in Real Red and it looks a complete match.  The 'white' is actually Very Vanilla, which is the background for the dsp, so I've carried that through...

Goodness me, such busy days!  And when I'm not working I'm glued to the Olympics.  I thought I'd better pop in today to show you a card I made recently. I made this for the lovely Michelle, who's blog you can see here .  I've used a white 5x7 card base, followed by a slightly smaller layer of Pool Party card.  The dsp, I'm sure you'll recognise, is from the Everyday Enchantment dsp.  I actually ended up with two packs of this!  I'm still at the stroking stage with it, so it's a wonder I've made a card with it at all!  But my new favourite thing is the new Apothecary Art stamp set used with the framelits labels collection.  There is something so thrilling about stamping and colouring this and then cutting it totally accurately with the die.  It's such an interesting shape to use, too.  I've coloured the image with Pool Party and Calypso Coral pens. I've cut a slightly bigger piece in Pool Party and used a very sweet embossing...

Hello fellow blogeroos!  I've just got time to pop in today to show you a very simple card.  Have a look: This was so simple to make, but I am so in love with this paper.  The pool party flowes are a lot bigger than I'd expected, but this is a 5"x7" card so it fits beautifully.  I'm not sure where the sentiment is from but it's nice and big too and looks lovely in the pool party ink.  I've just popped on some ribbon and there you have it.  A nice simple card, where the beautiful paper does the talking.  And who isn't in love with Pool Party as a colour, too?
