The Other Side Of Me

I've been having another session in my craft room again, where one thing leads to another.  I'm really enjoying doing this lately.  Come and have a look: I had to make a card for a resident, and knew I wanted to use the old Sail Away stamp, as the recipient used to be in the marines, so I wanted something slightly nautical. It's hard to tell, but I've stamped a script stamp all over the cardstock.  I swiped ink direct from my ink spot over the tag, bashful blue at the top and baja breeze at the bottom, which went on beautifully, then stamped the boat, then again on white card stock, cut out the sails and glued them in place.  Loving it! Hello everyone!  It's still a bit nippy, isn't it?  We've had snow all day.  I've been on a course in Nottingham and was worried about getting home, but we've made it. The good thing was, we had a late start so I had a chance to photograph the Valentine card I've made for John while he was out of the house! The other blog challenge I want to keep up with this year is the Cards For Men challenge .  This is challenge no. 3 and they want to see Valentine, Anniversary cards etc, so here is my entry: So many cards on the internet are pink, aren't they?  But as most cards are made by women to give to the important man in their lives, I just wondered if there ought to be more of a focus on masculine cards.  I've seen a few cards like this though, and love this kind of design and just had to have a go. I am challenging myself to make a scrapbook page once a month, as I am  stacking up photos that I love and not doing anything with them. So without further ado, here's is this month's project: Yes, okay, most people scrapbook their daughter's wedding, or the grandchildren or their exotic holiday, but I, well, I scrapbook my horse.  And if you knew him, you'd know why. I saw this paper, called 'Cambridge' by Bo Bunny, back in 2011 and fell in love with it.  It's taken me all this time to get round to buying it, though, so I'm really glad it was still in stock. I go through a strange process every time I do a layout.  I sit there and get loads of stuff out that either matches or I think fits my theme.  Then I sit and stare at it for two hours (I kid you not!) I've had a break in packing to make a card for my son-in-law who's birthday is April 1st.  No comments about April Fools, please (after all, he had the  courage sense to marry my daughter!)  I've had to make it so I can post it, then I've got to pack all my craft stuff away (sob!)  Thank goodness there's my last craft group on Wednesday to keep me going. Anyway, here's the card: I've used the sweet Perfect Postage stamp set.  It's so cute, I could sit there and play with it in a most child-like manner, for hours.  I've used Baja Breeze ink, Marina Mist, Night of Navy and Not Quite Navy.  I've backed the 'stamps' on a strip of Marina Mist card stock, then stuck that onto a panel of Marina Mist stripy dsp, with a scalloped bottom.  The reason it's that height is that there are two horizonal score lines along the bottom with the Happy Birthday sentiment in the middle, but it doesn't show up very well in the photograph.  The who...

I've had one of those conversations with lovely, lovely hubby.  You know the sort: DH: Can you make me a birthday card for work, please? Me: Of course darling, who's it for?
