Clean and Simple - first time ever!

Image
First of all, I just want to say a massive thankyou to Margaret at Christian Chick Crafts as I've won her candy!  I am thrilled.  I got a big package in the post and wondered what on earth it was, as I didn't realise I'd won at the time.  I've got the most amazing stuff, look here: I kept putting my hand in the envelope and it just kept on giving!  There are beautiful stamps and every kind of embellishment known to man, plus glitter, and some bottle tops, which are something I've been dying to use, so I am delighted.  It'll keep me busy for months.  Thankyou so much, Margaret.  Isn't blogging exciting?  You never know what's going to happen next... Finally, I've had a go at a clean and simple card.  As you know, the problem with Promarkers is that they go through whatever cardstock you use and can be seen on the other side.  So there is no way you can stamp directly onto your card and colour it in. So I thought I'd risk ruini...

Introducing Molly (and George)

I am in love. Don't panic - I am in love with a set of stamps! I know I probably shouldn't say this, but I'm really not keen on the Magnolia stamps.  They just seem a bit odd because the children don't have mouths.  It's almost like a 'children should be seen and not heard,' sort of thing going on. And then I discovered these Molly Bloom stamps, and I have fallen hook, line and sinker.  I'm not really a 'cute child' person, preferring teddies and puppies, but I find these characters irresistible.  Please give a warm welcome to Molly and George. I saw the idea for this card in Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine but it took absolutely ages to source the scalloped card and the papers (October Afternoon).  They must be incredibly popular as they've sold out twice! Now maybe you can help me out here.  I cut out the little photo corners myself, which is fine, but I know you can buy a photo corner punch (Martha Stewart for a start) but no ma...

A Bug's Life

Image
Sorry this isn't a great photo of this card, I didn't realise there was a shadow on it, it seems to depend what time of day I take the photograph. I could hardly wait for these scalloped card blanks to arrive from Which Craft so I could start playing with them. At first I was just going with the daffodils stamp (from Woodware) but then got a bit carried away into a fantasy land of bugs and flowers and birds. The sentiment says, 'Bugs and kisses' which is really appropriate (from Pink Petticoat) and the flower button was one I had in my stash that worked really well. I wasn't looking forward to cutting the scallops out of my backing paper, but I found it really easy with my craft knife. I can't wait to use them again. Hope you like it, Mrs O.
