The Other Side Of Me

Good morning all.  Just to say first of all that I had a wonderful birthday yesterday and received some of the most beautiful cards I've ever seen, all made by members of the card swap group.  It absolutely made my day, and I can't thank you enough.  You are a very talented bunch of crafters.  I'll be showcasing the cards on here very soon, because you just have to see what I got! And now for today's card.  I saw this on Pinterest and just had to have a go.  The hardest part was working out the measurements to get 4 equal strips of paper, and now I can't remember what they are!  I had to ask my engineering husband to work it out for me in the first place (I don't do maths!)  The card base is 7" x 5" in Lucky Limeade (my new favourite colour!) so the next layer is a 1/4" shorter all round, then I cut and stuck the dsp down, and then cut with the framelits dies.  The stamp is from Sprinkled Expressions, a retired set, but as with any c...

I've decided to play along with this week's Dynamic Duos , as I've been dying to have a play with my new In-Colour cardstock.  There is no getting away from the fact that these are 'in your face' colours.  I realised I was slightly limited as I don't have the pens yet, just the inks and cardstock, but that was good as it made me really think.  I decided not to shy away from this being a bold colour combo, but to go with it, so this is the card I made: You'll no doubt have seen the Sprinkled Expressions stamp set that I've used here.  I've stamped it in the Raspberry Ripple ink.  The new ink pads are lovely, by the way, very juicy!  I've used the framelits die to cut into the Gumball Green, which I embossed with the square lattice embossing folder.  This is definitely my new go to toy tool (!) and will be on loads of cards from now on.  I don't know why I took so long to get round to buying it really. Don't you love it when you give your title a post and realise that a whole year has gone by since you last wrote that?  I can't believe how much my style has changed too, since I last made a birthday card for my dear friend Priscilla. I am the proud owner of the Stampin Up! dsp called Spice Cake.  It is the most gorgeous stuff (somehow I knew it would be!)
