Card For Eric

Image
Hi there! Popping in today with a card for one of the residents, who is in his 90's. I still struggle with masculine cards, but mostly for younger men, and have to admit, this card came together very easily.  I am never going to go off this SU Sail Away stamp, it's just too beautiful.  The colour is Midnight Muse, cardstock and dsp.  A quick and simple card. Back soon y'all! Jane x

Beginning Project Life

Image
I've recently decided I can't stand it any longer and have succumbed and bought a proper Project Life folder and some inserts.  I've been working towards this for a long time and it's made me so happy to finally have one instead of sticking photos into a book like I have been since last August. So why do I infinitely prefer Project Life? 1.  Because you don't need to stick anything down if you don't want to.  This is a massive bonus because I've changed my mind about this first double page spread about 8 times!  2.  You can be as creative as you like or keep it really simple and everything still looks really good.  I've done everything here from using die cut letters and numbers, typing my words and printing it out, using my own handwriting, using proper photos, using parts from magazines, using free printables from the internet, the list goes on. 3.  PL folders enable you to scrap book, art journal or use it as a smash book, it's all down to ...

Cards For Men

Hello all! Sorry I haven't been here for a while, things have been so busy.  I've hardly had time for crafting, let alone blogging as well. But when I have had time, I've been really enjoying myself.  Take the top card.  Sorry I can't remember where the inspiration came from, but I had great fun making this.  The green is Lucky Limeade.  I still love this colour, especially with black. This was the next one, with a different colour combination: I sent this one to my son in law.  I like the texture on these hexagons, but there is something lovely about the smooth ones on the first card, too.  You'll probably know the stamp set is Tape It from SU.  This is such a versatile set I'm using it on everything.  The blues are Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo and Midnight Muse, which match the striped stamp sections. The next step was to make this one: This was for my son's birthday at the end of August.  It's literally 3 strips of ...

Sail Away

I've been having another session in my craft room again, where one thing leads to another.  I'm really enjoying doing this lately.  Come and have a look: I had to make a card for a resident, and knew I wanted to use the old Sail Away stamp, as the recipient used to be in the marines, so I wanted something slightly nautical. It's hard to tell, but I've stamped a script stamp all over the cardstock.  I swiped ink direct from my ink spot over the tag, bashful blue at the top and baja breeze at the bottom, which went on beautifully, then stamped the boat, then again on white card stock, cut out the sails and glued them in place.  Loving it! Then I did this: I love this acrylic block technique.  Unfortunately I mostly have ink spots and have only just discovered that you can still do it with them, if you ink liberally all over the acrylic block with a pale ink.  I stamped it on the white cardstock and then added the Sail Away stamp.  I've fram...
