Stampin Up!

Well I went to the new craft class on Wednesday night, and had a fantastic time.  We made three things, so here they are:

The first one is this lovely calendar page for September.  They've made one for each month this year apparently.  I'm not sure if the stamp is by Stampin Up! (SU from now on, I think!) but the paper certainly is, and the punch design at the top is Martha Stewart.  I've never used one of hers before and was really impressed.
Here's a card we made:

Can you tell it's SU, just from looking at it?  It's dawned on me that they don't really use white cardstock and they don't stamp in black and colour it in like most other companies.  They stamp in the coloured ink that works best with the image and use a wide range of coloured card stock.  We used a ribbler to get the corrugated effect on the card, it was really easy.
And finally:

The photo doesn't show the glitter on this card really, it's very pretty.  The card colour is Old Olive and so is the ink.  Then I've painted the grass in with a water brush using the same coloured ink.  It's very easy to do, but very effective.
I must say that compared to 'a certain other class' (which also charged me twice as much!) this group was extremely enjoyable, but also very professionally and competantly run.  Everything we needed was supplied (although I am going to take a pencil case next week with my own craft knife etc) and demonstrated well.  The women were all lovely and we had quite a laugh as we worked.  Basically I can't wait to go again and hubby says this is fine, so roll on next Wednesday.
I also couldn't help but place a teeny, tiny order from the catalogue today.  Can't wait for everything to arrive.
Best wishes everyone
Jane xx

  2. Jane - great cards and really in the SU style. I am so envious of you having a class locally. There is nothing like that down here for me. Can't wait to see what you have bought, and what you produce next week. My order came on Thursday via UPS - great service. It's all so exciting!! x x
