I Love Candy! (And some anniversary cards)
Wow! It came in the post on Saturday, I was so excited and ran in to open it - my candy from Donna at My Happy Place (if you're looking for a dollop of inspiration, this is the place to go). Here is what I got:
A pack of stick on diamonds (can't wait to start using those), some very groovy sentiments, a little bag of goodies containing little flowers, metallic heart shaped brads etc, and a wonderful stamp set with a gorgeous bear doing some painting and decorating. I never win any competitions, raffles etc, so this is very exciting for me!
As the title says, I have been making some ruby wedding anniversary cards this week. What a flippin' saga! It is so hard to make sure they don't look like:
a) wedding cards
b) 40th birthday cards
which you don't realise until you start making them.
Anyway, here they are:
This was made using some magazine freebie papers, but the main sheet is from a Forever Friends set I bought last Christmas. I printed the wording on my computer, then laid a tag template over it and cut it out.
These papers are from the Prima Melody collection, and they're absolutely beautiful. I printed my Penny Black script stamp in the middle, and added the stamped image and the butterfly. I've put glitter on the champagne bubbles, which looks quite nice.
I really enjoyed making this one, but it's harder than you think to get everything lined up properly. I printed the sentiment on my computer first, then worked round it. The little rose corner stamp is from a Forever Friends set, and the butterfly was in with some magazine freebies. I am enjoying using stamps from different sets that work really well together.
All I can say is, "Phew!" and "It'll be a while before I make one of those again!" But it was a learning experience and shows there's a big gap in the market for wedding anniversary toppers etc. I know there's loads of stuff for weddings, but that's not the same thing, is it? Never mind, I got there in the end, I hope my friend likes them...
Thanks for dropping by today,
Jane xx
