For A Princess

The time has finally come to make my Granddaughter's birthday card, and here it is:

After a great deal of dithering over what style of card to use, I decided to use the sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp .  I can honestly say I've never used anything like it before, but it was perfect for what I needed today.  The bunting at the top is part of the sketch, so of course I stamped the letters for 'Princess' on it, as she is totally into princesses.  I've known for a while that I would use this as a theme, especially when I saw these fabulous papers from Imaginisce.  The stamps are from Imaginisce too, and they're only 99p each!
As planned, I've made her a door hanger with the same papers.  Here's one side:
using the same papers as above, but this time the princess has brown hair.  This is the side that says 'Come in!'
This is the reverse side:

Here is the other paper (and don't forget, both papers were double-sided, so there was a lot to choose from) this time stamped with the cute little carriage.  This side says, 'Keep out! Princesses only.'  I decided not to go overboard with flowers and such, as the papers speak for themselves really.  I have used glitter on the Princess' dress and crown, and backed the picture onto glitter card so there's just enough bling.
I've made a little matching gift tag for her present, tied with the same pink gingham ribbon that's on her card.  We're seeing her on Saturday, so I hope she likes it (you know what four year old girls are like!)
Thanks for looking in today.  I'm off to lunge a horse!

  2. These are lovely. Won't be long now for me to say "my grandson" or "my granddaughter"! Baby was due today but hasn't made an appearance yet :o(

  3. Adorable. I have a feeling she is really going to like the card and the door hanger. I'd be surprised if the gift tag will get too much attention--attached to a gift, it will somehow not exactly be noticed. (Bet mom will treasure it, though...a keepsake for years to come.) *S*
