Card For Sue

Hello Blog Friends!
Is it snowing where you are?  I can't believe we woke up to about 4 inches of the white stuff this morning.  It's March, for goodness' sake!  But isn't crafting the perfect antidote to this ridiculous weather?  I don't know where I'd be without it at the moment.
As you know, I've set up a card swap group.  The first card I made was to go to Sue Ralph, and this is what I made:
I kept it nice and simple as I'd said to send out a card with 'Hello' or 'To brighten your day' or something similar just to get to know one another.
The card base is Baja Breeze and it seemed to dictate the rest of the card, really.  The ribbon is Baja Breeze, too, and I've stamped and cut out the base of the flower, using my Sizzix set, then stamped on vellum for the top flower, in white ink, which I then heat embossed.  I am definitely not embossing enough and need to make a card at least once a month with a touch of heat embossing on it.
I'm sure you recognise the 'Hello' from the Elementary Elegance set.
Today I received my card and a very nice note from Alison, I was so excited to receive it.  Look at this:

It's a joyfold card, and so lovely and clever.  I'd like to know what the dsp is though, wouldn't you?  It goes so well with the stamping.
Can't wait to see what we all make for each other next month!
I'm going to do a spot of blog hopping and then I'm off to play with my new stamp sets.
Back soon y'all!
Jane xx

  2. Gorgeous cards Jane. I'm intrigued as to what a joyfold card is and how it is made.
We had heavy snow from Thursday night until early hours today and it was very thick!! All day we've had tiny flakes drifting around but a lot of the bulk of the snow has gone. Looks as though the clouds are ready to drop a load more though! In 1986 it was snowing on the 5th April, how do I know? I was 'skating' across the car park of our hospital at 7am in labour with Elizabeth!

  3. I agree with Victoria and can't wait for the next swap. Lovely card by the way - you've really inspired me to use my pleated ribbon too x x
