Card For Abby
Oh boy, have I been having fun. This is the card I made last week for my youngest daughter. I got a bit carried away...
All I knew was that I wanted to make an easel card where the centre piece was this fancy square shape. The card I'd seen that inspired me looked nothing like this! I started with the Spellbinder die (if you have the Top Note die it will be perfect) and cut some of this beautiful Everyday Enchantment dsp. It contains Poppy Parade and Soft Suede, so I combined them on the butterfly at the top and stamped one of the sentiments from the butterfly set. Then I went to town a bit on the inside, look:
I've used the Fresh Vintage stamp set (retired) and stamped all around the edge. But of course my favourite bit is the Four Frames stamp at the bottom, with the little birds from the Clearly For You stamp set, how sweet is that? But I wasn't finished there. I recently looked on You Tube for a video on how to make a post-it note holder as I've been dying to make one. I found a brilliant video here.
This was the perfect springboard, for me to make this:
It's so cute irl, like a little match book. It was so easy to make, I'm up for making half a dozen more. I'm going to make some after running the cardstock through an embossing folder, and how about some with a Christmas bauble on the front (they measure 3 1/4" square).
Thanks for looking in today, and if I've inspired you just a tiny bit, then I'm happy. I'm off for a look round to see what you guys have been creating.
Back soon

I don't think you got carried away at all! This is beautiful and perfect for someone as special as a daughter!
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous Jane and I bet your daughter loved them to bits! Those three little birds look stunning in the dotty label and I like the way you used that motif for the post it holder too. Vicky x
