Butterflies and Bows
A friend of mine has asked for a card for her mum, so this is what I made:
I have CASEd it from Marisa's card here, (I checked and it deffo says you can case her stuff!) I am going through a phase of loving this whole thing of a sentiment with a lot of white space, but on a scalloped shape, so there may be more of these to come. It's really made me realise I don't have many exciting sentiment stamps. I'll have to rectify that, won't I? (*Giggles*!)
I've used a different embossing folder for my background. All the pink cardstock is Pretty In Pink. The flower is punched out with my posy punch. I stamped the posy punch flower onto white card, cut the centre flower out and propped it up in the centre of my pink flower to add a bit of depth. I added pink ribbon instead of yellow, largely because the bow was already tied for me! (You don't buy a dog and bark yourself, do you?) I kept looking at it and wondering where I'd seen it before, when I remembered it had been on my birthday cake. I should have entered this card in one of those challenges where they want you to recycle something on your card. Whenever I see those I can never think of anything!
I punched out the butterfly with my Flight of the Butterfly punch, stamped it and glued it in place with Crackle Accents, so it stands up perfectly.
Well I'm off for a whizz round your blogs to check out your lovely creations. Thanks for popping in today and thankyou so much for your comments, they really brighten my day.
Have a great weekend, everyone.
Back soon,
Jane xx

Birthday cake to card... perfect recycling! Better eat more cake to get more ribbons! I had one of those 'sentiment' moments a few months ago... let's just say it was rather expensive as I kept seeing amazing sentiment stamp sets that I *had* to have! Fabulous CAS look... keep them coming!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Jane. I'm in the same boat as you with not many sentiment stamps. I thought that I might have got something at the ICHF show at Aintree yesterday but I was a bit disappointed with it. I'm going to another show in two weeks at Port Sunlight which is stamping festival so I should be able to find something there :o) You'd love that show 100's and 100's of stamps and ink pads

What a lucky friend to have you to create such a special card for her! Lovely, again. And I too like that white space.
ReplyDeleteYou made me giggle Jane with the saying 'you don't buy a dog and bark yourself' - I haven't heard that for years! I bet your friend was delighted with your pretty card. Vicky x
