Card For Priscilla

After a great deal of dithering, I have finally made a card for my BFF.  I'm pretty sure she doesn't read this, which is a good job, as I definitely don't want her to see this before I send it.
When I'm making a card that I know will have to be posted, I tend to be a bit cautious, so I love an opportunity to make a card for someone I know I'm going to hand over in person and so can be a bit more lavish.  I'm prepared to go OTT and make a box for it if it doesn't fit in an envelope.  I was surprised to find this easily fits in, though.
If you're going to make one of these, you'll need two 6x6" card blanks.  Cut the tops off the outside flaps diagonally and stick the card backs together, one inside the other.  Cover the two triangular sections with your chosen DSP and a border using your favourite border punch, then stick one down on top of the other.  Stamp your image and back it with a scalloped border (square works just as well as round) and stick that on the front.
Make a square insert with a good quality card, (obviously less than 6" so it fits inside) decorate it how you like, but remember, it's got to slide in and out of the pocket easily.  Add your greeting to the inside.
You could be a lot more lavish on the outside than I have been.  I felt the paper was quite busy and didn't want to detract from the stamped image, so left it fairly basic.  If you start adding flowers, you may have to make a box as it's quite chunky by this stage.
Once again I've used the stamp from Little Claire Designs and am delighted with how versatile it is.
I finally feel that I'm up to date with Christmas card making, but I've realised hubby hasn't given me a list of his colleagues yet, so it's nose to the grindstone for a little while longer.  I hereby vow that I will not be caught out like this next year and faithfully promise to make at least one Christmas card every week throughout the year!
Have a great week, everyone (and wrap up warm!)
Jane xx

  3. Lovely card, Jane. How about we have our own little challenge to make our Christmas cards early next year? I'm sure that I've seen cards that have been made to fit a challenge blog where it's 100% Christmas all year. Maybe someone can help us out by recommending a blog

  5. Gorgeous card Jane, love the gold embossing and very pretty papers. About Which craft, there is one in Sheffield, nothing to do with the Doncaster one, I think it is near Sheffield United ground.
