Happy Birthday Darling!
I've decided to use the fab sketch over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp to make my husband's birthday card. This is only the second time I've made his birthday card, and I find it quite hard work as I want to make something he will really like.
And so, here we are:
I often end up using a Forever Friends bear as I think they're so sweet. I colour them with Blush and Pale Yellow Promarkers. I'm not saying that's the only way to do it, but I like the end result each time I do it. I stamped the image again on patterened blue paper and cut the gift box out of it, then stamped it again on plain card, cut out the ribbon and tag and coloured them with a blue Promarker, then stuck them on.
I have finally got around to using these truly awesome Kaisercraft Seaside collection papers. In fact they're so awesome I've spent many hours just gazing at them and wondering what on earth I could do with them to do them justice (and, I confess, stroking them, but some of the papers are flocked, so that kind of behaviour is perfectly acceptable!)
On Saturday I visited the wonderful Blyth Craft Studio which is very near to where we used to live. It turns out they've been selling card making things for 15 years! I wish I'd known about it while we were still living in Worksop. Anyway, amongst other things, I bought the photo corner punch that I've used to frame the stamped image. I found it quite tricky and had to practise on several bits of scrap card before I could get it to work, but I'm very pleased with the end result and will definitely use it again. (Any tips on using these would be greatly appreciated).
I've added the obligatory card candy and the ticket sentiment (one of my favourite things) and printed 'True Love' on it. I hope hubby likes it, and I hope they do too over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp.
Enjoy the sunshine everyone, and thanks for dropping by today.

Lovely card, I'm sure that Mr O will love it too. I like doing paper piecing as you have with the parcel, makes your stamps more versatile and you can use up scraps of paper to do it :o)
