A Card For Two Challenges

I've managed to combine two challenges to make this card, which was very useful for me.

It took absolute ages in the planning stage.  I played about with papers and colours until I was happy with the colour scheme.  I stamped the fairy once and wasn't happy with the way I coloured it, stamped it again and coloured it differently and was happier, but not totally satisfied.  Then I stamped it on cream card instead of white and suddenly it was exactly what I was looking for. It's amazing how such a little change can make such a huge difference to the overall effect.
The papers are from my Country Diary collection.  I didn't have a clue how to do the two little clasps on the right hand side, thinking, 'Poor me, I don't have a special cutter!' It came to me in the middle of the night, to use my script stamp on cream card and cut it out like I have done.  The sentiment was the only quick bit!
And so this challenge is for the St. Luke's Charity Cards Challenge  which this month is entitled Come Fly With Me.  Obviously my little fairy flies, so I think that'll be okay.
But the sketch idea came from Sunday Sketch and Stamp and I really enjoyed working with it.  It was quite a challenge, but I got there in the end.
I had to laugh, though.  I wouldn't say fairies are my favourite thing, and as I said above, it took ages to colour her in.  By the end of it, I'd quite happily never see a fairy again.  Then guess what happened?  I went to collect my post, which contained the latest copy of Cardmaking and Papercraft, and lo and behold, it contains a free set of, yes, you've guessed it, fairy stamps!  I had to have a bit of a chuckle.
Enjoy the sunshine everyone.
Mrs O.

  1. Thanks so much Mrs O for joining our challenge, your card is lovely and I know just what you mean about something not being right sometimes. I guess white can be a bit bright.

I hope you can use the coloured in fairy on another card!
