A Walk In The Park

I have finally given in and been to Hobbycraft and bought the Project Life Blush edition.  I've bought the card set and the 12x12 paper and today my 6x4 plain cards arrived.  It is such beautiful stuff, I was so excited to play work with this!
We took our granddaughter to Twin Lakes last weekend.  We bought a photograph after John and she had been on the log flume, so I knew I was going to start with a full page spread.  This is what I did:

I have liked the look of the Blush colours for a long time, they're very feminine.  I had to wait for my 6x4 cards to come so I could put in the wording 'braver than me!' with my die cut letters (braver than me because I'm too scared to go on anything!)  I've drawn a pen line all the way around the outside, I don't know if you can see that.  I've added some lovely October Afternoon stickers.  The one with the butterfly says, 'Walk in the park.'  How perfect is that?

This is the right hand page.  I loved picking out the cards.  There are so many to choose from I found it quite overwhelming at first.  Then I was nervous about writing on them in case I ruined it, whereas if it's my cards I can throw it away and make another one.  The top right space is cut from a 12x12 sheet as well.  I love it all so much, it's everything I ever wanted to do with paper!

    I think your layouts are lovely and the Blush cards are very pretty. The thing about Project Life is that there is just too much choice - I want them all!!! You shouldn't worry about writing on the cards, I'm sure you could layer something over the top if you do make a mistake, and at least your handwriting is good, which is more than I can say out mine! Looks like you had a great time, at the theme park. x x

Hi folks, hope you're having a good weekend.  I can hardly believe I'm posting again so soon, but I really wanted to get this card on before it's too late. Here are another couple of challenge blogs I've been following since just before Christmas, but I haven't had enough supplies to be able to join in.  The first one is the Colour Q challenge  which as you can see, wants us to use the colours shown in the picture, put together beautifully in the skirt.  I don't have any of the Stampin Up! In Colours yet, so this is the first time I've been able to have a go.  The second challenge blog is Freshly Made Sketches.  I saw this and wondered if I could combine the two challenges. And so here is my card: First of all, I rotated the sketch, I just couldn't work it that way up! I decided to use a kraft card base, and stamped the image (sorry I can't remember the name of it) which I'd inked up in Old Olive, Real Red and More Mustard.

Freshly Made Sketches No. 22

I've had one of those conversations with lovely, lovely hubby.  You know the sort: DH: Can you make me a birthday card for work, please? Me: Of course darling, who's it for? DH: (In a voice of doom) A male colleague  (Cue thunder and lightening!) Me: (Swallowing) No problem.  When do you want it by? DH: (Casually) Tomorrow. Me: You're 'avin a larf! But have I let the situation defeat me?  No, I have not!  But I would like to say a huge thankyou to Freshly Made Sketches , for coming up with one of the most wonderful, and inspiring, sketches I've ever seen. This is what they've given us to work with: And this is the card I made using the sketch: I actually made a prototype card first, just using paper, as there was quite a lot of measuring to work out before I put everything together.  The card is 5x7" but then I went into metric for everything else (The joys of going to school in the '70's!) Dynamic Duos No. 1

Hello everyone, I hope you're having a great Bank Holiday weekend (here in the UK), even if it is raining! Now, many of you probably already know Lesley Croghan, owner of the wonderful Always Playing With Paper blog, who runs her Merry Monday challenge from there.  If you don't, you certainly should pop over when you get time. Anyway, she's now hosting a new challenge, called Dynamic Duos, which you can find here : Her first colour choice is Pool Party and Lucky Limeade, and I couldn't resist having a go.  This is what I've made: The base is 5x7" in Very Vanilla.  (Neutrals are allowed, thank goodness!)  Then I've taken a piece of watercolour card, which is very similar to the vanilla, with the addition of a lovely texture.  I've punched out a flower using my Posy Punch, very close to the edge, so it leaves a gap.  I've put dimensionals on the back of the water colour paper and stuck it onto one of the sheets from the Everyday Enchantment
