The Paper Players #95

Hello there everyone, hope you've had a good Monday.  I have, despite the pain in my hand.  I'm pleased to say it hasn't stopped me crafting one bit.
I'm really pleased to have made a card that I can enter at The Paper Players blog challenge.  Here are their colours for this week:
Such great colours, but it took quite a bit of experimenting before I was happy with my card:
It looks a bit light in the photograph, but it's lovely in real life.  I've just received my order of card stock, including a pack of Baja Breeze, so that was my jumping off point.  I tried several different stamps before deciding on the Posy Punch set, as a lot of stamps didn't have enough impact in these colours, and I wanted to make a statement.  I've substituted Real Red for Poppy Parade as I don't have any ink in that colour.
The base card is 5"x7", with a layer of Baja Breeze on top.  Then the bit that frustrates me:  I really, really need a 5"x7" embossing folder, I am fed up with only having little ones.  So I took some card and just embossed it in 1/2" lines both ways, which came out with a really sweet waffle look to it, but just the right size.  Then I stamped the Posy Punch flowers in the 3 different colours and punched them out.  I added a stripe of Baja Breeze dsp and popped the flowers on, the Baja Breeze one is flat on the card but the others are on dimensionals.
But the highlight for me is the little banner with the sentiment on it.  I got this idea from Debbie Henderson's blog, where she used the Decorative Label punch the way it is here, it's so clever, it's like having another punch, thanks so much for sharing such a great tip, Deb, I love it.
So I'm entering this over at The Paper Players and want to say thankyou to them for such a great challenge blog.
And just one tiny thing, before I go... I am thrilled to say I've got a job and start on Wednesday.  I'm working in a home for the elderly, and can't wait to start.
Thanks for dropping in today,
Back soon
Jane xx
