Thankyou

Obviously it's dawned on me over a period of time that when you see a group of SU! colours on a set of dsp, it's their way of saying, "Hello!  These colours work together well, guys!" (for people who are a bit thick, like me!)
So I keep noticing cards using the new dsp Sycamore Street (part of sale-a-bration, by the sound of it) and am fascinated by the colour scheme of Island Indigo, Pool Party, Rich Razzleberry, Sahara Sand, Summer Starfruit and Tangerine Tango.  These are colours it would just never occur to me to put together, but I find them so striking, I just had to have a play.  This is what I made:

So you can see, the base of this 4"x4" card is Island Indigo, with a slightly smaller square of Rich Razzleberry (a colour I've hardly touched) that has been run through the square lattice embossing folder, followed by a stamp from Four Frames in Tangerine Tango.  I have never used this colour before, even though I've had it a year.  I cut out a plain piece of Pool Party and cut it in half so I could frame the sentiment.  That sentiment, by the way, is from Trendy Trees and is actually in a straight line on the stamp.  I used my samj to line it up in the white oval and was thrilled at how neat it looked.
The leaves are from a Marianne die, but there is certainly a SU version.  I used a tiny punch for the little orange flowers and added a little gem to the centre of each one.
I hope you like the colour combination and have a little play with it yourself, especially if, like me, they're colours you wouldn't normally use.
Thanks for dropping by today.  This post took ages to write because blogger won't let me upload photos from my hard drive atm.  By the time I've uploaded a picture to picasa and then from there to my blog, I've had enough to be honest!
Back soon, I'm sure
Jane xx

  1. Hi Jane. I love it when you get inspired to use colours you wouldn't normally. Your use of different textures and the leaves nestling against the frame makes your card very attractive.

Thank you so much for your kind comments they really gave me a boost! x

  2. Lovely card Jane. Those colours really work well together. Tangerine Tango is one of my favourite colours even though I would never normally choose orange - bizarre. The Sycamore Street DSP is fab - I've used it for a card for my Dad. Hope you can sort out your Blogger issues, it's still driving me mad! x x
