Card For Elsie

Happy Monday morning, everyone! I just thought I'd pop in with a card I made for one of the residents last week.  It's the first square card I've made in months.  I miss it as a shape, actually.  It only ended up being square because I decided to start out by stamping my script background stamp and cutting it out with a border round it, which turned out to be more or less square.  I matted that onto a border of Summer Starfruit, then onto a white card base. Before all that, of course, I'd added the neutrals ribbon.  I'd actually stamped the leaf stamp from Summer Silhouettes onto the script, but then decided to cut some leaves with my die cut (in Gumball Green), then added the ribbon, then the flowers cut from the In Colours dsp, again in Summer Starfruit and Primrose Petals.  The recipient is a blind lady, so I like to make her a card with plenty to touch.  She really liked it, anyway, and has kept it long after her birthday, which cheers me up no end! Cards For Men

Hello all! Sorry I haven't been here for a while, things have been so busy.  I've hardly had time for crafting, let alone blogging as well. But when I have had time, I've been really enjoying myself.  Take the top card.  Sorry I can't remember where the inspiration came from, but I had great fun making this.  The green is Lucky Limeade.  I still love this colour, especially with black. This was the next one, with a different colour combination: I sent this one to my son in law.  I like the texture on these hexagons, but there is something lovely about the smooth ones on the first card, too.  You'll probably know the stamp set is Tape It from SU.  This is such a versatile set I'm using it on everything.  The blues are Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo and Midnight Muse, which match the striped stamp sections. The next step was to make this one: This was for my son's birthday at the end of August.  It's literally 3 strips of Tim Holtz washi t

Well August has been a very busy month for card making.  I haven't been able to post as many as I'd like as I've been so busy in other ways as well.  Here's a card I made for one of the residents, though: I've had an image saved on Pinterest for some time that's very similar to this, so I've cased it.  The website seems to be called Betty's Stampin Stuff and here is the link to her blog http://www.bettysstampnstuff.blogspot.co.uk/  although this is not a direct link to her version of the card, but I would like to credit her with the original.  The colour scheme is Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake and white.  The script stamp is from French Foliage, with a flourish stamp that isn't SU (I'm not sure who it's by to be honest!)  I was thrilled when I inked it up to see it already had butterflies on it, so it worked perfectly with the embossed ones.  Thanks for looking in today.  I'm off to practise some french and make a wedding card!
